Personal Lines Account Manager | Client Risk Advisor

Position Summary

As our Personal Lines Account Manager | Client Risk Advisor, you will become a trusted resource for clients and an integral member of our growing team. You will work with individuals and families, producers, and insurance carriers while supporting new business, account rounding, remarketing, retention, and ongoing service.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary service contact for assigned personal lines clients and build long-term relationships through proactive communication.
  • Conduct annual insurance reviews and help clients understand policies, limits, deductibles, and coverage options.
  • Identify potential coverage gaps, proactively manage renewals, and communicate material premium or coverage changes.
  • Assist clients during claims and help them navigate the claims process when needed.
  • Gather underwriting information, prepare applications, quote and market accounts with multiple carriers, and prepare professional proposals.
  • Process policy changes and endorsements, provide insurance documentation, handle mortgagee and lienholder requests, and maintain accurate agency records.
  • Review upcoming renewals, identify accounts that should be remarketed, compare alternatives, and communicate recommendations to clients.
  • Identify account-development opportunities involving home, auto, umbrella, rental property, secondary homes, recreational vehicles, boats, motorcycles, flood, valuable articles, and high-value personal programs.
  • Help improve workflows, technology, onboarding, renewal processes, retention, and the overall client experience.

Required

  • Kansas Property & Casualty License, or ability to obtain promptly.
  • Personal Lines insurance experience preferred; experienced insurance professionals from related roles are encouraged to apply.
  • Understanding of personal insurance coverages.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfort learning and using insurance technology.

Preferred

  • Three or more years of Personal Lines insurance experience.
  • CISR, CIC, or another professional insurance designation.
  • Experience with an agency management system and comparative rating platforms.
  • Experience working with multiple personal lines carriers and remarketing accounts.
  • Experience serving affluent or high-net-worth clients is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

Within Your First 90 Days

  • Learn the agency management system, comparative rating technology, carrier appetite, and internal workflows.
  • Develop an understanding of personal lines carrier partners and products.
  • Build relationships with clients, carrier partners, and producers.
  • Become familiar with IPI service and communication standards.
  • Begin independently servicing assigned accounts.

Within Your First 6 Months

  • Become a trusted resource for assigned clients and independently manage routine service needs.
  • Proactively manage renewals and identify accounts requiring attention.
  • Identify opportunities to improve coverage and successfully remarket accounts when appropriate.
  • Develop productive relationships with carrier representatives.
  • Support producers with new business quoting and account onboarding.
  • Recommend improvements that enhance client service and operational efficiency.

Within Your First Year

  • Be recognized by clients as a knowledgeable, responsive, and dependable advisor.
  • Manage your assigned book of business with a high level of independence and strong retention.
  • Consistently identify meaningful account-rounding and coverage opportunities.
  • Help strengthen IPI’s reputation for exceptional service and professionalism.
  • Play an active role in improving the personal lines operation and position yourself for future leadership.
